Our story

True North Waste Bins

True North Waste Bins was built on a simple idea: homeowners, contractors and businesses should be able to find honest, affordable dumpster rental without delayed deliveries, poor communication, hidden fees or unreliable scheduling. So the company is built around reliability, communication and honest pricing — upfront, flat-rate pricing whenever possible, no hidden charges, responsive communication, and containers that arrive in the window we gave you and get picked up promptly. Our mission is simple: to make waste removal easier, cleaner and more dependable for everyone in Duluth and nearby communities.

Today we serve families, landlords, property managers, business owners, remodelers, roofers and contractors across Duluth, Superior and fourteen more towns — from a garage cleanout in Lakeside to a remodel in Congdon, a job site near Canal Park and roofing jobs out to Cloquet and Two Harbors.

How a job actually works

You call. We ask what you are clearing, where it will sit and roughly how much there is. We give you a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup and disposal to an included weight, and we tell you honestly whether it is same-day or next-day for your address. The driver sets the container where you asked, on a flat, solid surface. You load it level with or below the top rim. You call when it is full or the job is done, and we haul it.

The things that make that work are boring and deliberate: reliable scheduling for every delivery, pickup and swap, clean and well-maintained containers, and a rule that we say the hard thing on the phone — a street placement that needs a City permit and a bond first, a weight problem, a concrete load that will blow the allowance, a fridge that has to be recycled, a TV that cannot go in, an asbestos step the state wants first, a hauling rule in the next town — rather than on your driveway.

Why local, not a national chain

We are not a national chain. We are a local business that understands the area, the weather and the needs of property owners across Duluth and the surrounding communities, and our phone is answered by a local team member. That matters here: sixteen towns in two states, each with its own rules about where a container can sit and who may haul — from Duluth's obstruction permit and the Resource Renew district's hauler licence, to Superior's Director of Public Works permit, the city licence Wrenshall and Barnum write into their codes and the municipal garbage contract in Silver Bay. Knowing them is the difference between a smooth delivery and a box that cannot go where you wanted it.

We also know the driveways. Which drives have room for a 20, which hillside lots need a look before the truck goes in, which job sites need a plan for the approach. And we believe in hiring locally — a local company should mean local jobs.

What we stand on

The things we will not trade away

  • A real person answers

No call center. The number on this site gets picked up by somebody who can size and schedule the job in one call.

  • Your property comes first

Professional drivers who respect your driveway and property, careful placement on a flat, solid surface, never the lawn, and plywood or boards under the contact points if you want extra protection. If a site needs a different approach, the driver tells you before delivery, not after.

  • Honest sizing

If a 10 yard is the right box for your rubble, that is what we quote — not the 20 because it costs more.

  • Responsible disposal

We work with regional transfer stations and recycling facilities to reduce landfill waste whenever possible, keep metal, concrete and yard debris out of the landfill where facilities take them, and never bury a banned item in a mixed load.

  • Transparent pricing

Delivery, pickup and disposal to an included weight, explained before the truck leaves the yard. No hidden fees.

  • Answered around the clock

The phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for bookings, swaps, extensions and early pickups.
